Evidence Based Fall Prevention Programs

There are many evidence based fall prevention programs throughout the country. To find if one is available in your area call your local senior center or area agency on aging.

Some of the program titles are:

Matter of Balance
Sure Steps
Don't Fall For IT
Stepping On
Step by Step
Stand Up and be Strong
Free from Falls
Fall Proof
HEROS
InSTEP

This list is not all inclusive and not all of these programs are available in all areas. If these particular fall prevention programs are not offered where you live most senior centers do offer exercise and balance programs such as Tai Chi.

Go to www.n4a.org for information on your local area agency on aging.
